Which Piano Should I Rent?
We Want to Help You Pick the Right Rental Piano For You There are two main types of pianos you can rent from Heritage Piano Rentals. You can rent a digital piano or an acoustic piano. One is not necessesarily better than the other. Your situation will determine which kind of piano is best for you. This is the traditional style of piano that has been around for 300 years. The acoustic piano hasn't changed much. It's still really heavy. You may want to get an acoustic piano if you live in a home or main level of your apartment building or condo. This is for convenience of moving and also you would want to consider the sound level the piano rental produces. Acoustic pianos are a beautiful piece of furniture in most cases. So, if you have the space, you don't have neighbors who don't like noise and like a nice piece of furniture in your home for a while, an acoustic rental piano is for you. It's a little nerve racking to commit to buying an acoustic piano because they are so expensive. Also, the piano will sound different in your home than it did in the store. The size of the room, the amount of furniture, wall treatments, height of the ceiling and type of flooring can affect the sound of your acoustic piano. It's a good idea to rent a piano if you are nervous about buying. Then you can get used to the feel and sound of an acoustic piano in your home before you buy. Heritage Piano Rentals allows up to a year of rent towards the purchase of the rental piano or $300 towards any new piano at the Orem, South Jordan or Murray Piano Gallery.
If you live in an apartment, with roommates, have kids starting lessons and you get headaches easily, if you're in a band, or if you are into recording and composing, you may want to rent a digital piano. The digital piano is the kind you plug in. Some people call them keyboards but they are the nice version of keyboards that feel and sound more like an acoustic piano. You don't have to tune them and they are easier to move. All the digital piano rentals that we carry have fully weighted keys, headphones, metronome and a few extra features like sounds, rhythms and recording. Most of our digital piano rentals are hammer-action weighted and graded weighted which means it feels almost exactly like you are playing a grand piano. A couple downsides to digital pianos is that when the power goes out, you can't play the piano and they don't look quite as nice as acoustic pianos. Some digital pianos do have the nice looking furniture touch to them with a solid wood cabinet in varieties of wood finishes. Most college students and some piano teachers rent digital pianos. We hope this bit of information will help you in choosing the right piano rental for you! |
